And The Bottoms Drop Out: How Pantsless Fashion Swept The 2025 Met Gala

The 2025 Met Gala dress code was “Tailored for You,” but judging by the red carpet, it may as well have been “Tailored...but forgot the pants.” From crystal-drenched bodysuits to blazers bravely flying solo, this year’s Met carpet was a formalwear fever dream, with an unmistakable lack of bottoms. Now don’t clutch your pearls just yet (unless they’re part of your look). The pantsless aesthetic has been brewing for years. We first saw whispers of it in 2021, when sheer dresses paired with sparkly panties debuted as a refreshing twist on tired naked dressing. ZoĆ« Kravitz did it best in a Saint Laurent silver slip, gleaming undies. Subtle? Not even close. Effective? Absolutely. Fast-forward a few years, and we’re no longer peeking through mesh to catch a glimpse—we’re looking underwear dead in the eye. By 2022, Kylie Jenner was proudly front row in Loewe briefs, and Julia Fox made a case for lingerie as loungewear... in the grocery aisle. Then came 2023, when Miu Miu de...

Gaslighting: The Silent Weapon of Intimate Partner Abuse

Gaslighting: The Silent Weapon of Intimate Partner Abuse There’s a reason emotional abuse is often called invisible. It leaves no physical scars, just a slow unraveling of a person’s sense of self. And one of the most damaging tools in an abuser’s arsenal? Gaslighting. Gaslighting is more than lying. It’s psychological warfare. It's a calculated (or sometimes unconscious) campaign to distort your reality, make you second-guess your memories, instincts, and worth. Over time, it chips away at your ability to trust yourself, and once that’s gone, the abuser doesn’t need to use fists or threats. Control has already been achieved. The heartbreaking reality is that some people are walking into relationships with a need to dominate. Maybe they don’t fully realize it, but their actions follow the same pattern: subtle control, isolation, emotional manipulation, escalating harm. And they often choose partners who won’t be believed. People with mental health challenges, or those without ...

Fatty Foods and The Brain/Gut Link

How High-Fat Diets Could Be Aging Your Brain Faster Than You Think We all know high-fat foods aren’t the golden ticket to good health. But while most people worry about their waistlines, science suggests we should be paying just as much attention to our  minds . New research from  The Ohio State University  reveals that fatty diets may seriously damage memory, especially as we age. The study, conducted on rats, found that a high-fat diet didn’t impact the memory of younger rats. But in aged rats? The difference was clear - and alarming. Older rats fed a fatty diet showed significant memory problems, and researchers believe the reason lies in the aging brain’s immune system. The Aging Brain: Vulnerable and Inflammatory As we age, our body’s immune response naturally weakens, including the immune activity in the brain. This makes the brain more vulnerable to chronic inflammation, a factor linked to neurodegenerative conditions like Alzheimer’s. Addi...

Erasing The Stigma: The Facts Surrounding Intranasal Esketamine

Anyone who has personal experience with mental illness knows that there is a frustrating amount of stigma surrounding depression and ailments and the treatments used to ease their symptoms. Too often, people experiencing clinical depression will hear, “Just try to be happy,” or, “It’s not that bad.”  While many people are still resistant to taking medication for depression (according to the NIH, 49% of psychiatric patients did not adhere to their medication regimen,)more people are open about their mental illnesses now than they were in the past according to a Harris Poll for the American Psychological Association. 87% of American adults said that having a mental health disorder is nothing to be ashamed of, while 86% believed that people with mental health disorders can get better. That’s why it’s easy to believe the CDC numbers that say the percentage of adults who had received any mental health treatment increased from 19.2% to 21.6% from the years 2019 to 2021. Nexium, Lunesta a...

Christmas is a time to unleash your inner decorator and it’s the perfect time to incorporate live plants. Poinsettias are an obvious choice for ringing in the holiday spirit or perhaps even Peace Lilies, but if you really want to celebrate the season of giving with peace, happiness, and most important of all, love, you’ll want to look for the classic beauty of the floral world – the rose.   What looks better right next to a lit up Christmas tree than an arrangement of red roses in full bloom? I dare you to tell me. If fragrance is what you’re looking for, nothing mingles with pine, fir, and peppermint than a lovely, smooth rose note carrying through the room. It’s all about atmosphere, and when you have roses, you definitely have atmosphere.   Roses make perfect gifts or holiday decorations even for people with canine or feline friends as they are safe for both animals. The best place to get them? Grace Rose Farm, of course! Their blooms never disappoint and come with their pe...

Floral Serotonin: Grace Rose Farm

Image
I understand what it’s like to have flowers as your passion. Ever since I was a little girl, I had a garden. Learning about each plant’s needs fascinated me and taking care of them made me feel like some kind of mystical nature spirit. I guess that’s why I absolutely melt when anyone gives me truly high quality fresh cut flowers.   I was lucky enough to collaborate with the geniuses behind Grace Rose Farm, where roses truly are their passion. In my room sits the proof – a lovely bouquet of two dozen roses in beautiful shades of peach and pink, also known as the Mara Bouquet. I like to think of it as my sweetly floral serotonin, because every time I look at it I smile. The owners of this business, Gracie and Ryan Poulson, have a story that might as well be considered a love story. Their rose garden, which at 500 bushes was nothing to sneeze at, was built at the first home they shared together in honor of Gracie’s grandma. As gardening projects do, this one grew and grew until it bec...
