Skincare Holy Grail Products: The Hydration Station

If one thing is true about the beauty industry and how it relates to you as a person, it’s that it’s never too early to start taking care of your skin. If you start preventing wrinkles in your late 20’s, chances are you won’t have to worry about them until much later. This includes obvious care – things your mother probably told you like stay out of direct sunlight, use sunscreen and drink plenty of water. Later on, though, a solid skincare regimen is sometimes needed. I’m going to share with you the three Holy Grail products that have earned a spot in my skincare cabinet forever that keep my skin smooth, even, hydrated and wrinkle-free.

OYU Cosmetics’ Unscented Youth Elixir

This is a recent find and I am very glad that it is now in my cabinet. I first got it as a free sample, but it is definitely something I could see myself buying regularly. It is made of mostly natural oils and ingredients and doesn’t clog the pores. The Abyssian oil is there to reduce any traces of wrinkles you might have. Rosehip oil works the double miracle of reducing scarring (yes, even acne scars!) and helping the skin get its bounce back. This means if your skin has lost elasticity, the rosehip oil will help. Coenzyme Q10 adds extra internal and external protection and Sea Buckthorn Seed Oil helps to restore collagen. You use this product after cleanser, but before everything else, and in the warm months only use it at night. Two to three drops is enough for your entire face. Your skin will feel amazing the next morning even after just a few uses, but you will notice a difference in brightness and evenness after consistent, faithful use.

LANEIGE Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Serum

Talk about a Holy Grail item! I’d been looking to incorporate a serum into my regimen for a while and my combination skin has unfortunate patches that tend to dry up when they’re neglected. Hyaluronic acid sounded like the solution to my problems. I’ve trusted LANEIGE in the past. I’ve used a toner of theirs and it was high quality. This serum, though, knocks it out of the park. The blue packaging twists to reveal a pump and it only takes one push of the pump to get enough serum for your entire face. You pat it on freshly washed skin as you would with any other serum (or just after using the Youth Elixir above) and follow up with moisturizer. Make sure you hit your driest spots! This serum is hypoallergenic and dermatologist approved!

Tatcha The Water Cream

I might have combination skin with dry patches, but that doesn’t mean I don’t get acne. I’ve found that heavy moisturizers tend to be way too much for my skin and cause breakouts faster than you can say “whitehead.” I was thrilled when I discovered The Water Cream. Its unique formula bursts upon application to hydrate your skin without leaving a sticky, greasy feeling behind. The wild rose in the cream tightens your pores and smooths your skin while leopard lily calms redness. Like the serum I use, this cream has hyaluronic acid as an ingredient, meant to plump and hydrate skin. It even has gold in it to create a glow!

Fit these three gems together with a mild cleanser like Tatcha’s Rice Wash and you have a complete nighttime regimen for combination skin!
